I’ve been bidding with River City Furniture Auction for over a year now and I keep coming back because the deals are consistently great. So far I’ve picked up an office desk, an upholstered accent chair, a patio dining set, and a king-size headboard — all at prices that made my friends think I was joking. The Sacramento team recognizes me at this point, and they’re always friendly and helpful during pickup. If you haven’t tried auction furniture shopping yet, you’re missing out.

Bought a queen bed frame and a matching dresser from the Houston auction. Both pieces were in great shape and looked exactly like the listing photos. Shipping took about two weeks, which was reasonable for furniture that size. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is that I wish the shipping costs were a little lower, but honestly the total price was still way below what I’d pay at a furniture store. Will definitely keep an eye on upcoming auctions.

Drove over from Elk Grove to the Sacramento location to pick up a mid-century modern entertainment center I won for $85. It was in better condition than I expected — just a tiny scratch on one side that I barely noticed. The whole process from bidding to pickup took less than a week. My only suggestion would be to extend the pickup hours a bit later on weekdays for those of us coming from out of town after work. Otherwise, a really solid experience and I’ll be watching for more listings.

I was skeptical about buying furniture online without seeing it in person, but the photos and descriptions were spot on. I won a leather recliner and a console table from the Dallas auction, and both arrived in perfect condition. The shipping was faster than I expected — about ten days from payment to delivery. The recliner alone would have cost me triple at a retail store. Definitely bidding again soon.

I picked up a gorgeous solid wood dining table with six chairs for under $200 — the same set retails for over $800 at furniture stores in town. The bidding process on HiBid was easy to figure out, and the pickup at the Sacramento location was smooth and well-organized. The staff even helped me load everything into my truck. I’ve since gone back for a bookcase and a pair of nightstands. River City is my go-to for furnishing my home without breaking the bank.

The Indianapolis location had an incredible selection when I went for pickup. I won a sectional sofa, a coffee table, and two end tables in a single auction — furnished my entire living room for less than $400 total. Everything was clean, sturdy, and looked barely used. The preview day was really helpful too because I could check the fabric and cushions before committing. This is hands down the best way to buy furniture if you’re on a budget.
